Another first day..

When I started this blog I wrote something about it being the beginning of the first day of my life. How many of those am I going to live through?

Since my last post, my life changed. A lot. At this point:

  • I am working out regularly – after acl reconstruction, as to keep fit with emphasis on “legs”
  • At the Musical Theatre in Gdynia we opened “Norte Dame De Paris” – all the required equipment was bought – technically 6 units of Shure PSM1000 IEM sets, a lot of Allen&Heath ME-1 personal monitoring devices and my precious – Stagetec Crescendo mixing desk
  • I met many inspiring people, that gave me more courage and faith than I could imagine a person could handle
  • Past month went by with a mental “big bada boom” inside as the wave of events brought an opportunity to become a sound technician at Royal Caribbean Cruise Line

I’ve made it through the recruiting process. First I have sent a email to “the guy” that did the technical interview, at the same time I’ve registered at the rcclc website. After two weeks of trying to schedule an appointment via skype, I found myself in two hiring programs and at the end choose RCLC. At Celebrity I would have to be an AV tech until the sound operator position would be free, at RCLC it’s sound technician. I will get more technical details regarding all the equipment and my duties on board (not my job description). We’ll see what happens. Last formal thing was to get a transit visa. The interview at the embassy went well and I got both, transit and tourist visa. Last step – arranging the flight is something the company takes care of. If nothing gets in my way, this will be my home for a long time. I get onboard Anthem of the Seas on 25th February 2018, Cape Liberty, Jersey.

I’m full of joy and fear, excited and frightened at the same time. My life got crazier, faster and more unpredictable than I imagined.

Good. Me like.

Cheers!
