I’ve had more than 6 weeks to reorganise my life and get ready for my first ship assignment. Now I have just one more week and no idea where that time had gone. There is a forum for all RCL tech crew and through it got in touch with my new Production Manager on board and the girl\/woman from whom I’m taking over on Anthem. It’s really nice to get even a “Looking forward to meeting You” message from your PM. As far as I know at this point I will be working at Music Hall, which\u00a0is a 2-story lounge on decks 3 and 4 that also serves as a nightclub and small music performance venue. As it comes to sound equipment it’s a Digico SD8 mixing desk (me like so much!), Mayer sound system and wireless and microphones\u00a0by Shure. Actually I am not worried about work at all. My only concerns are ship life and my need of “being myself”. Being in the same place in different places at the same time and all the restrictions with clothes. The rest – I think I don’t care or mind. Oh! and roommate. Who is that going to be and how will we (if we will) get along. RCL gives employees a full list of things to take, to arrange and as it seems a really good travel plan. They seem to be organised as a big “whatever at Sea corporation”. I think, am not sure and thus get a micro panic attack whenever it gets to me, I am quite well prepared. I want to do a “test packing” 23kg is not much and that’s all I can bring. My friend, who is a sound tech for Carnival Cruise Line, told me she takes two suitcases half packed to have storage for all the things she will probably buy on the way – 6 months at Carnival. I’m not sure myself if I’m not going to be back in a month or two. It depends how I will like it there. I have a 3 months probation period, I can resign whenever with no consequences and RCL also can say “bye” with no reason. Whatever happens I have the door open to the Musical Theatre in Gdynia. I let myself think that there are no bad outcomes in my current situations. Maybe that’s what You get after almost 15 years of hard work. Work meaning job and work meaning yourself. So I need to pack my suitcase for upcoming 7 months and get on the plane. \nBefore that happens I will visit my parents at my hometown. There is also a lot going on there. My dad is going to have a shoulder surgery and mom is just about to get retired. For me it will be just a say goodbye, hug and a quick kiss with “I love You” trip. Still a trip back home.
\nLast few days will be hectic. That I know for sure. Each and every one of them is almost fully filled with “what to do’s” and “who to meet’s”. Everybody knows I like my life like with lots of action, this time it’s a lot even for me. I’m sure though it’s going to be great.<\/p>\n
